ELIZABETHTOWN — The Lady Eagles blasted 31 shots on goal Thursday and turned a big day from Ashley Hardin into a 7-0 Three Rivers Conference win over visiting South Columbus.

Hardin tallied a goal, five assists and 17 steals to lead East Bladen.

The Lady Eagles wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, as Patience Ward found Hardin with a pass and the junior booted home the goal for a 1-0 lead just 2 minutes into the match.

Several minutes later, Ward scored off a pass from Hannah Devane for a 2-0 lead and, 12 minutes later, Hardin assisted on a goal by Devane for a 3-0 advantage.

East Bladen scored its final goal of the first half moments later when Katie Evans booted the ball home off a pass from Hardin.

The 4-0 lead was extended early in the second half when Hardin assisted on Evans’ second goal of the match for a 5-0 edge and, just 2 minutes later, Hardin assisted on another goal, this one by Devane for a 6-0 lead.

After a lengthy drought, East Bladen got its final goal when Ting Lin booted home a penalty kick in the final 2 minutes.

Devane finished with two goals and an assist for the Lady Eagles, while Evans had two goals and 12 steals. Ward had a goal, an assist and 10 steals; Sara Gargala had 15 steals; Ashton Magby had 12 steals; and Gracyn Martin had 10 steals.

As a team, East Bladen had 118 steals in the match and outshout the Lady Stallions by a 31-0 margin.

In Cerro Gordo on Thursday, the Lady Vikings put four goals on the board in the first en route to a 7-1 Three Rivers Conference win over visiting West Bladen.

The Lady Knights averted the whitewash when Ocean Woody took a pass from Josefina Tabodo and knocked home a goal about 12 minutes into the second half.

West Columbus, however, tallied a trio of goals in the second half to seal the win.
