ELIZABETHTOWN — The Lady Eagles remained perfect on the young season with a 5-0 whitewashing of visiting West Columbus in a Three Rivers Conference match on Thursday.

Led by 16 steals on defense by Ashley Hardin and a pair of goals from Kenia Medina, East Bladen roared to a 4-0 lead by halftime. As a team, the Lady Eagles recorded 102 steals in the match, had a 7-0 edge in corner kicks and a 28-0 advantage in shots on goal.

Along with Medina’s two goals, East Bladen got a goal and two assists from Hannah Devane, a goal from Sara Gargala and a goal from Ting Lin. Patience Ward and Hardin each tallied two assists, and Katie Evans had an assist along with 13 steals.

Gracyn Martin was credited with 12 steals and Gargala had 11 steals for the Lady Eagles.

In St. Pauls on Thursday, the Lady Bulldogs scored three goals in the first half, but had to hold off a rally by visiting West Bladen to earn a 3-2 Three Rivers Conference win.
