Bladen We Care golf tourney set
WHITE LAKE — The 29th annual Byron H. Gooden Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit Bladen We Care will be held at Vineyard Golf at White Lake on Thursday, April 26.
The four-person Captain’s Choice tournament will have a divided shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Entry fee is $500 per team or $125 per player and includes greens fee, cart and lunch. There will be prizes to the winners.

Rotary golf tourney is May 17
WHITE LAKE — The second annual Rotary International Cup Golf Tournament will tee off on Thursday, May 17, with a 1 p.m. shotgun start at Vineyard Golf at White Lake. The Elizabethtown Rotary Captain’s Choice tournament will benefit Bladen County students with scholarships.
Tournament registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will be $50 per player which will include greens fees, cart and lunch. There will be mulligans, a 50-50 raffle, prizes, awards and a chance to win a car with a hole-in-one.

Fundraiser set for Robby Priest
ELIZABETHTOWN — Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church will host a barbecue plate fundraiser to benefit East Bladen High School football coach Robby Priest on Saturday, April 7, in the PAC building from 5 to 8 p.m. There will also be a silent auction.
Plates will cost $8 each and will include barbecue, baked beans, slaw, rolls and dessert for eat-in or take out. T-shirts with the slogan #RobbyStrong can also be purchased through the Facebook group Fighting with Robby—#RobbyStrong.
Priest is currently battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy treatments. All proceeds from the fundraisers will go to assist Priest and his family with medical expenses.
Softball registration is open
ELIZABETHTOWN — Registration for girls softball is underway at the Bladen Recreation Department through April 6.
The cost for girls softball (ages 5 to 7, 8 to 10, 11 to 12 and 13 to 16 as of Jan. 1) is $30 per participant.
Those interested can register online at bladeninfo.org (Parks & Recreation Department) or visit the Bladen County Parks and Recreation office to register.
