DUBLIN — West Bladen got off to a positive start with a win at No. 1 singles, but went on to drop seven of the next eight matches to visiting St. Pauls and lost a 7-2 decision in the Three Rivers Conference match on Monday.

Jose Osorio earned a 6-4, 6-3 win for the Knights at No. 1 singles, but the only other win came from Victor Arellano at No. 5 singles, who took a 6-3, 6-1 verdict.

The Bulldogs swept the doubles matches, giving up just 11 points overall.

West Bladen will travel to Tabor City on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. conference match against South Columbus.

Eagles fall, 6-3

In Lake Waccamaw on Monday, visiting East Bladen fell to east Columbus in a Three Rivers Conference match, 6-3

The Eagles earned a pair of victories in single matches — Jackson Bostic took a win at No. 3 with a thrilling 12-10 tie-breaker, and Will Hester earned a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 4.

In doubles, East Bladen got a 9-7 win at No. 2 from the tandem of Bostic and Tucker Norton.
