Lady Eagles blank East Columbus, 7-0

ELIZABETHTOWN — Hannah Devane booted home a trio of goals, Katie Evans scored two more goals and Kenia Medina added a pair of goals on Thursday to lead East Bladen to a 7-0 whitewashing of visiting East Columbus.

The Three Rivers Conference win improved the Lady Eagles to 12-0 overall and 10-0 in the conference.

East Bladen all but put the match out of reach with four first-half goals.

The East Bladen defense hounded the Lady Gators throughout the match, and came away with 161 total steals — led by Sara Gargala with 22, Medina with 18, Evans with 17, Gracyn Martin with 16, Devane with 15 and the duo of Cybil Campbell and Patience Ward each had 14.

Along with Devane’s hat trick, she also tallied a pair of assists, while Evans added two assists and Medina had one assist. Campbell and Bailey Davis each contributed an assist for the Lady Eagles.

In the nets, Ting Lin earned the shutout win as East Bladen outshot the visitors by a 28-1 margin.

The lady Eagles go on the road Friday to face Scotland County in a non-conference match at 6 p.m.
