WHITEVILLE — Only three Lady Knights reached base the entire game Friday and fell to Whiteville on the road in a Three Rivers Conference game, 7-0.

The loss drops West Bladen to 9-10 overall, 8-6 in the conference.

The Lady Wolfpack scored a run in the first inning, then added three runs in the third for a 4-0 lead.

Whiteville tacked on three more runs in the sixth inning to seal the shutout win.

The Lady Knights’ first base-runner didn’t come until the third inning when Shelby Pharr worked a walk, but couldn’t advance. The two West Bladen hits both came in the seventh when Alara Cashwell singled and Carley Dawson doubled — but Cashwell’s courtesy runner was called out for leaving the base too early just before Dawson’s double.

Madison Collins took the loss in the circle for the Lady Knights, She gave up 12 hits, no walks and struck out three.

West Bladen will go on the road to Cerro Gordo on Tuesday to face West Columbus at 6 p.m.in a conference game.
