WHITEVILLE — Visiting West Bladen was held to one hit — a sixth-inning single by Jake Butler — and the Knights took an 11-1 loss against conference-leader Whiteville on Friday in a Three Rivers tilt.

The Knights fell to 3-15 overall, 3-11 in the conference.

West Bladen broke out on top with a run in the first inning behind a walk to Dawson Bryan to open the game, followed by a fielder’s choice by Logan West, a passed ball and a sacrifice fly by Scott Bowen.

But the Wolfpack answered with a run in the home half to knot the game — then added a run in the second, two in the third and four runs in the fourth. Whiteville finished the game on the mercy rule with three runs in the sixth.

Bowen took the loss on the hill for West Bladen.

The Knights will be on the road Tuesday in Cerro Gordo to face West Columbus at 7 p.m. in a conference game.
