LORIS, S.C. — East Bladen traveled down into South Carolina on Thursday and swept both ends of a Dixie Pre-Majors twin bill from Loris by the scores of 9-1 and 5-1.

The victories improved the Eagles to 3-1 on the summer season.

In the opener, Sincere Smith got the start on the mound for East Bladen and went three innings, giving up just a first-inning run. Shyheim Pone finished up the game with two innings of work for the Eagles.

The East Bladen offense, meanwhile, scored nine runs in five innings to seal the first win. The big hits in the game included a double by Alex Coates, triple and single by Xavier Wooten, a double and single by Smith along with two singles and four stolen bases by Kyle Tatum.

In the nightcap, the game was called after three innings when the lights wouldn’t come on, but the Eagles earned the win behind Coates on the hill, who gave up only a single run in the second inning on the only two hits he allowed in the game.
