BLADENBORO — A 96-degree beginning for the newly resurfaced courts at West Bladen High School ended with the season-opening tennis match being doused with rain.

Singles matches were underway but none were completed Tuesday.

Head coach Billy Bryant said the match would be resumed most likely when the Lady Knights travel to Clinton on Sept. 9.

Purnell Swett is scheduled to visit West Bladen on Wednesday, weather permitting.
