WILMINGTON — West Bladen rolled past host Cape Fear Academy in straight sets on Monday to remain undefeated.

The Lady Knights prevailed 25-13, 25-19, 25-11 to climb to 2-0 on the season. The Three Rivers Conference opener is Tuesday at Red Springs.

Senior Mikayla Meadows had 11 kills, six service points and four aces to lead the guests. Junior Sidnee Walters added six kills, six assists and five aces. Junior Amelia Brisson had nine aces, senior Jordan Benson had nine digs and junior Ashlyn Cox recorded 10 assists. Junior Shelby Pharr had 10 assists and five service points.

The junior varsity squad of first-year head coach Kaitlyn Sykes won 25-15, 25-11 behind Emily Young’s eight aces, six kills and five assists. Catherine Dowless added five aces, Lydia Villagomez had four kills and Caroline Brisson had five digs. The Lady Knights JV team is also 2-0.
