DUBLIN — East Bladen got its third win of the season against a familiar foe on Tuesday when they defeated East Columbus in the second round of the Woodman Life Christmas Tournament, 71-47. All of the Eagles’ wins this season have come against the Gators.

Long-range shooting fueled East Bladen, as the Eagles drained five three-pointers in the game.

East Bladen opened the game by outscoring East Columbus by a 16-11 margin through the first quarter, then turned on the defensive clamps in the second stanza to outduel the Gators by a 12-5 verdict and take a 28-16 advantage into halftime.

The Eagles’ offense turned up the heat in the second half and exploded for 26 points through the third quarter. East Columbus put 13 points on the board and saw the deficit grow to 54-29 with 8 minutes left to play.

The gators managed to win the fourth frame 18-17, but East Bladen easily sealed the 24-point win.

J.R. Robinson led the Eagles with 18 points, while Eian Hines contributed 14 points with a three-pointer. Sincere Smith scored 13 points with a three-pointer and Ethan Hines scored 11 points with a pair of three-pointers.
