ROCKY POINT — The Lady Eagles built huge leads early Wednesday and won their 14th straight game with a 64-20 win over Heidi Trask.

East Bladen improved to 14-0 overall and 4-0 in the Four County Conference.

Lacey Suggs and Christiana Cromartie each canned a trio of baskets in the first quarter to lead the Lady Eagles to a commanding 23-4 lead after the first quarter of play.

That momentum continued through the second stanza, as East Bladen outscored the Lady Titans by a 19-5 margin and took a 42-9 advantage into halftime.

The substitutions flowed throughout the second half for the Lady Eagles, but they still outscored Heidi Trask 14-7 in the third quarter and 8-4 in the fourth frame to seal the 44-point win.

“The girls played to their potential,” East Bladen coach Patty Evers said. “I was proud of them for not being complacent and putting together a complete game.”

Abby Ward added nine points with a three-pointer, 10 assists and six steals, while Ja’Tyra Moore scored 12 points and pulled down eight boards.
