ROSE HILL — East Bladen rained three-pointers on Union and handed the Spartans a 60-55 Four County Conference loss on Friday.

The win improved the Eagles to 5-9 overall and 2-4 in the conference.

Ethan Hines drained three of the long-range bombs in the first quarter, Denzel Johnson buried a pair of three-pointers and Adonis Avery canned another one as East Bladen opened a 23-17 advantage after the first 8 minutes of play.

In the second quarter, Johnson added another three-pointer but Union outscored the Eagles by a 13-11 margin and cut the halftime deficit to 34-30.

The Spartans came out of intermission on fire and started the second half with an 11-4 run to open a 41-37 lead. But Hines and J.R. Robinson drained three-pointers and East Bladen whittled away at the deficit, trailing by just 45-44 going into the final frame.

Hines, Johnson and Robinson launched three-pointers in the fourth quarter and East Bladen outscored the Spartans 16-10 to seal the win.

Hines led the Eagles with 17 points and five three-pointers. He also had three steals. Johnson canned four three-pointers and scored 13 points for East Bladen, and Dayvon Powell scored 10 points.
