ELIZABETHTOWN — Lacey Suggs recorded another hat trick while Claire Campbell and Jazmin Salgado-Baza each scored twice as the Lady Eagles whitewashed visiting West Bladen on Thursday, 9-0.

East Bladen opened the scoring quickly when Abby Ward found Justyna Gargala with a pass just 2 minutes into the match and Gargala booted home the goal.

Several minutes later, Ward got another assist when she fed Salgado-Baza with a pass that was turned into a 2-0 lead.

Suggs followed up with a goal moments later and, just 2 minutes after that, she got an assist on a goal by Ward for a 4-0 edge.

In the match’s 19th minute, Campbell fired in a shot on a feed from Suggs and the Lady Eagles took a 5-0 lead into halftime.

In the second half, East Bladen got a pair of goals from Suggs and goals by Campbell, Salgado-Baza to seal the Four County Conference win.

The Lady Eagles outshot the visitors by a 22-0 margin and also had a 6-0 edge in corners.

— In St. Pauls on Thursday, the Knights of West Bladen fell to the Bulldogs in the first round of the state’s Class 2-A dual team tournament.

Victor Jacome rallied for a win at No. 1 singles by a 4-6, 6-6 (7-2) and 11-9 margin to give the Knights a 1-0 lead and Jose Luis Osorio added a come-from-behind 1-6, 6-6 (7-3) and 11-9 win at No. 5 singles, but St. Pauls swept the other seven matches.

The loss finished the season for the Knights as a team with a 1-5 record.
