West Bladen knocks off Alabama, 9-4

GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. — After a nightmare of a first inning, West Bladen exploded for five runs on six hits in the second inning and went on to beat the Alabama state champions Satrday 9-4 in the opening round of the Dixie Pre-Majors World Series.

The win, which improves the Knights to 17-5 overall and 1-0 in the double-elimination tournament, sends West Bladen into the second round Sunday against Virginia at 5 p.m. (EST).

Chandler Lennon earned the win on the hill for the Knights.
