TAR HEEL – Overnight Sunday Tar Heel Middle School experienced a water main

break causing a temporary shutoff to be done on Monday morning of the schools water supply.

BCS maintenance staff was able to quickly and efficiently repair the water line break this

morning and return the water flow to normal. Water quality tests are being conducted with test

kits provided by the Bladen County Health Department to ensure safe consumption of the

water. School cafeteria staff is able to prepare a hot meal using bottled water for student

lunches. Additionally, bottled water has been brought to the school for distribution to students

and staff. School restroom facilities are operating properly. The school’s daily schedule is

running on time. We anticipate that all water supplies to the school will return to normal by the

end of the day.
