The end-of-season accolades for the Four County Conference tabbed a number of Bladen County student-athletes from East Bladen and West Bladen high schools on Thursday.

At the top of the list stood Kyle Tatum, a senior at East Bladen, who was selected as the conference’s baseball Player of the Year.

Tatum batted .625 for the season, helping to lead the Eagles to a 15-8 overall mark and 11-3 in the conference — good enough to tie for second place with West Bladen behind Midway.

Recently signed to play his collegiate baseball at Bunswick Community College, Tatum had eight doubles, two triples, a home run, 34 RBI and 33 runs scored for the Eagles — all while performing as one of the conference’s premiere catchers.

Also selected from east Bladen’s baseball team as all-conference players were Sincere Smith and Xavier Wooten.

The Knights also had three players on the baseball list, as T.J. Guyton, Scott Bowen and Jarrett Williams were chosen all-conference.

West Bladen saw five players from its Four County Conference championship team selected all-conference — Alanna Ludlum, Laikyn Pait, Logan Autry, Sophia Singletary and Carley Dawson.

East Bladen’s Emily Scott was tabbed all-conference in softball.

On the soccer pitch, the Lady Eagles had two players chosen all-conference in Justyna Gargala and Ashley Hardin.

The Lady Knights had one player tabbed all-conference in Akira Grimes.

In boys track & field, East Bladen had three selections for all-conference — the 4×100 relay team, Eian Hines in the long jump and Atlas Goss in discus.
