WHITE LAKE — It was billed as the first Sunset Jams concert of the summer at White Lake, but Mother Nature had other ideas.

Under a threatening blanket of storm clouds, the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce held the free concert in the parking lot at Goldston’s Beach, and dozens of folks danced and listened to the sounds of the Holiday Band out of Chapel Hill.

Despite the threat of rain — and even a short break because of sprinkles — the crowd revelled in the classic soul, R&B, beach and classic rock music that carried across the lake area.

The next Sunset Jams concert will be held Thursday, June 15, starting at 6 p.m. with Soul On The Beach.
