Sheriff James A. McVicker is asking the public’s help in locating a missing person.

The family of Judith Deavers Hyder, age 53 of 201 Oliver Lane, Garland NC, reported her missing on Wednesday, December 9. She was last seen on Tuesday, December 8 around 1100 am.

At the time she was last seen she told her roommate that she was going to Broadway, NC. Hyder was last known to be driving her vehicle, a Pontiac G6. The vehicle was located on December 10 near the residence.

Members of the Sheriff’s office and Bladen County Emergency Management conducted an extensive ground search around the vehicle but she was not located.

At this time there is no description of clothing and no known direction of travel or mode of travel. She was known to be barefooted.

Hyder is 5 feet five inches tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. She has short dark hair. Hyder is a diabetic and has been without her medicine for several days. She is also know to be suffering from depression.
