ELIZABETHTOWN — More work is underway for Bladen County’s Relay for Life, and organizers are still looking for more teams and help.
The Bladen County teams met last week at the library, and they are working out the kinks for the upcoming events.
“The survivors’ gala will be on March 24,” said Mildred Beatty.
The group anticipates the setup to start around 3 p.m. with the gala starting at 4 p.m. It usually has about 75 people.
“The gala will be held at the Farmer’s Market in Elizabethtown,” she said. “We are also looking for entertainment if anyone knows of anyone.”
A dinner will be served and there will also be door prizes.
“This year the theme is Super Heros of Hope,” said Mary Williams, chairwoman for the Bladen County event. “Luminaries are still available for purchase.
Other groups are also planning a Parade of Hat and a Parade of Churches as part of their fundraising events.
