ELIZABETHTOWN — The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office is celebrating National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week.
It began Sunday and runs through Saturday.
Sheriff Jim McVicker, a release says, recognized those within his department with a letter and gift. The Sheriff’s Office has three part-time and 11 full-time telecommunicators handling the 911 call center for law enforcement, fire and rescue.
Also, another release says the Lumberton location of Lowe’s has donated two cases of latex gloves to the Sheriff’s Office. Mackey Singletary, the store manaager, made the presentation to McVicker.
