The students told WNCN the man reached into their car with a gun and demanded their wallets and cellphones.

He then stuck a gun in one of the student’s mouths and said, “You think I’m playing? This is serious!”

Fuquay-Varina High School was briefly under a lockdown Wednesday after the robbery at a nearby gas station.

Fuquay-Varina Police said the students were approached outside the Speedway gas station at 100 E. Broad Street and robbed them around 10:40 a.m.

Police said the robber is in his early 20s, has short dread-lock style hair and is wearing a black sweatshirt and a red bandanna around his neck. He drove away in a blue vehicle with a spoiler on the back. A woman was driving the car and there was an infant in the back.

The vehicle was last seen on Stewart Street headed towards Judd parkway.
