CLINTON — Carlie C’s IGA, a regional grocer of 25 stores from the Triangle to the South Carolina border, has joined with Sampson Regional Medical Center Foundation in the fight against COVID-19.

“Charity Checkout” allows shoppers to purchase a card in honor of a health-care worker, with proceeds designated to the Foundation’s fund for virus response and recovery.

The campaign lasts eight weeks. Shoppers in the Clinton and Roseboro locations can donate $1 or more at checkout to support workers at Sampson Regional. For each donation, a shopper can add their name to a decal in the store.

There is also competition among cashiers at participating Carlie C’s.

“We are thankful to partner with the team at Carlie C’s to reach out to members of our community to support this mission for our Healthcare Heroes,” said Sherrill Allen, the fund development coordinator for the hospital foundation. “Together, we can make a huge difference in providing additional resources for hospital staff on the frontlines.”
