The Elizabethtown Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place Sunday.

ELIZABETHTOWN — The Annual Elizabethtown Christmas Parade brought to you by Star Communications will take place on Sunday and will be followed by the Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Courthouse. This year’s theme for the parade is “Hometown Holidays” and the parade line will begin forming around West Broad Street at 4 pm.

Any willing participant in the parade must register prior to the parade for a chance to be involved in the festivities and the coveted float competition. A panel of judges will rank their favorites as the parade line pushes down Broad Street and hooks a right off Polar Street in downtown Elizabethtown. Camp Clearwater took home Best Float during last year’s competition with their “Grinch: Stole Christmas” inspired float. This year’s winner will be announced at the Tree Lighting at 5:30 pm.

The parade line will feature appearances from the Elizabethtown Council members, local emergency first responders, East Bladen High Schools organizations and many more familiar faces around town.

BLADENBORO — The 50th Annual Bladenboro Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday December, 2nd and this year’s parade will be dedicated to the local Girl Scouts for their contributions in the community. The grand marshals for this year’s ceremony will be Jane Walters and Sue Gallaway. The parade lineup will begin forming at 9 am and will make its way towards downtown Bladenboro by 10:30 am.

There will be an admission fee for floats starting at $430 for a whole float entry, $215 for a half float entry, $145 for 1/3rd size floats and it’ll be $50 to run advertising during the parade. The Bladenboro Christmas Parade will feature Town Council members, emergency first responders, law enforcement, church organizations, West Bladen High School organizations and many more familiar faces.
