ELIZABETHTOWN — Early voting in three municipalities of Bladen County has drawn nearly 400 in the first eight days.

Ballots have been cast since Oct. 16 and through Wednesday, there have been 329 for races in Elizabethtown, 55 in Bladenboro and 10 in Clarkton. The other four municipalities opted for no early voting.

Election Day is Nov. 5.

The early voting period continues through Friday of this week, and Monday through Friday of next week. Each day the hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The only site is the county’s Board of Elections office, 301 S. Cypress St. in Elizabethtown.

Voters in Dublin, East Arcadia, Tar Heel and White Lake will also be choosing town leaders. On Election Day, polls at nine precincts will be open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The following are the municipalities and the respective candidates:

Bladenboro: Commissioners, Gene Norton, Sarah Jane Benson, Patsi Callihan, Joey Todd, Stephanie A. Thurman, John “Mac” Bowen, Claudette Lewis Guy. Voters will choose three commissioners; Norton, Benson and Callihan are incumbents.

Clarkton: Mayor, Arthur Whedbee, Tim Tart, Jon Hall; commissioner, Linda Croom. Voters will choose a mayor and one commissioner; Whedbee is an incumbent.

Dublin: Mayor, Darryl Dowless; commissioners, David Kirby, David Hursey. Voters will choose a mayor and two commissioners; all three are incumbents.

East Arcadia: Mayor, Perry Blanks; commissioners, Carlee Carter, Horace Munn, Rhonda Hall Blanks. Voters will choose a mayor and three commissioners; all are incumbents.

Elizabethtown: Mayor, Sylvia Campbell; council Howell Clark, Ricky Leinwand, Dicky Glenn, Mary A. McMillian, Jessica McKoy Wilson, Debbie Heyward. Voters will choose a mayor and three council members; Campbell, Clark, Leinwand and Glenn are incumbents.

Tar Heel: Mayor, Roy Dew; commissioner, Sam Allen. Voters will choose a mayor and three commissioners; Dew and Allen are incumbents.

White Lake: Mayor, Goldston Womble, Gray Marshburn; commissioners, Jay Young, Dean Hilton, Tim Clifton, Tom Riel. Voters will choose a mayor and three commissioners; Womble, Clifton and Reil are incumbents.
