Bladen County Hospital to undergo Florence-related repairs

ELIZABETHTOWN – Bladen County Hospital’s surgical suite and labor and delivery unit were damaged by rains from Hurricane Florence. The hospital is in the process of repairing and renovating those areas of the hospital. Until the repairs are complete, the hospital will not be delivering babies, except for emergency cases.

Patients of Bladen Women’s Health Specialists who are expected to deliver before the repairs are complete will be given the choice of delivering at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville or transferring their care to a physician with privileges at another hospital. Women who choose to deliver at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center may continue to receive prenatal care at Bladen Women’s Health Specialists in Elizabethtown.

As soon as the repairs are complete, Bladen County Hospital will return to providing full obstetrical services. In the interim, patients may still receive treatment for any emergency condition at Bladen County Hospital’s Emergency Department, including treatment of emergencies related to pregnancy.
