ELIZABETHTOWN — Two people have been arrested and charged in connection to a March 13 shooting in Clarkton.
Darius Nikeem McDonald, 18, and Nyquan Ben Smith, 21, are each facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and discharging a weapon into occupied property with serious bodily injury. Bail for each was set at $100,000, a release from the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office says.
On that Friday, the two are accused of shooting Dominic Tyquan Shipman. He was taken to Duke University Hospital in Durham. He has since been treated and released.
The shooting happened on Harrelson Road. McDonald and Smith are listed with the same residence in the 400 block of Fred Monroe Drive in Clarkton. Shipman lives in Elizabethtown.
