ELIZABETHTOWN — The 2022 Regional Chicken Project deadlines are coming up, the first of which is in January.
The project, a release says, teaches “children responsibility, animal husbandry, and money management through raising, processing, and selling chickens.” Youth in the Future Farmers of America and 4-H programs learn about livestock.
The birds and key dates, all tentative, are:
• Hen chick: Registration, Jan. 5; delivery, February.
• Broilers: Registration, Feb. 3; pick up, March 21.
The show is May 10.
