ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen’s boys tennis team will be sending a pair of players to the Class 2A Mid-East Regionals at the end of April.
Jair McElveen and Blaine Pope took two of three matches Monday in the SAC-7 tennis tournament to earn third place and a trip to the regionals.
The duo first defeated a St. Pauls team by a 10-2 margin, but then lost to a Clinto tandem by a 10-0 verdict.
The Eagles team rebounded in their third match with a win over a second St. Pauls team, 10-2, which qualified the East Bladen team for regionals.
Clinton took both the first- and second-place spots out of the conference tournament.
The regionals will be played April 29.
