The team of Boussias Law Firm and Davis Precision had the low score Friday in the 10th annual Elizabethtown Rotary Club Scholarship. East Bladen students Jackson Bridgers and Kaelyn Eason were the recipients of the club’s college scholarships.

BLADENBORO — West Bladen seniors Jackson Pait and Tylik McCall will continue to be teammates next season as both signed Friday morning with Chowan University in Murfreesboro.

CALYPSO — Maylin McMichael scored late in the first half and East Bladen defeated North Duplin 1-0 on Thursday night in the second round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2A playoffs.

GREENSBORO — East Bladen’s Jaden Lewis placed third in the triple jump Wednesday in the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2A track and field championship meet held at N.C. A&T University.

WHITEVILLE — Luke McLean struck out nine over four innings of relief as Whiteville rallied for a 6-3 win over West Bladen on Tuesday night at Legion Field in the third round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3A baseball playoffs.

ELIZABETHTOWN — Gabby Rebollar scored four goals in the first half and East Bladen shut out Rosewood 5-0 on Monday night in the opening round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2A girls’ soccer playoffs.

East Bladen and West Bladen had athletes qualify for the N.C. High School Athletic Association track and field championships during regional meets.

BLADENBORO — Tyler Lewis pitched into the sixth inning and drove home the tying run Friday night in sparking West Bladen to a 4-2 win against Wake Prep Academy in the second round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3A baseball playoffs.

CLAYTON — Josh Mullan tossed a five-hitter in leading American Leadership Academy-Johnston to a 5-2 win against East Bladen in the second round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2A baseball playoffs.

BEAUFORT — East Carteret exploded for seven runs in the fifth inning Friday to beat East Bladen 10-0 and eliminate the Eagles from the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2A softball playoffs.

The East Bladen and West Bladen girls’ soccer teams qualified for the N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs and will host first round matches next week.
