ELIZABETHTOWN — Jayce Hatcher threw a two-hit shutout and Davion Lewis drove home four runs Tuesday leading East Bladen to a 10-0, five-inning win against West Columbus at Russell Priest Field.

ELIZABETHTOWN — Jenna Brice pitched a no-hitter and struck out nine as East Bladen routed Union 15-0 Tuesday in the first round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2A softball playoffs. The game was halted in the fourth inning because of the run rule.

KERNERSVILLE — East Bladen’s Henry Simmons shot 4-over 76 Tuesday and tied for third place in the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2A Central Regional boys’ golf tournament played at Pine Knolls Golf Club.

ELIZABETHTOWN — Bella Beard scored twice and East Bladen posted its seventh consecutive shutout Monday with a 4-0 win against East Columbus in the opening round of the Carolina Conference girls’ soccer tournament.

The West Bladen baseball team received a first round bye in the N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs announced Monday, May 4 while three other Bladen County teams will host opening round games scheduled Tuesday, May 5.

TABOR CITY — Amiya McCarty had a pair of third place finishes and Tahlela Bethea and Jennson Martinez came in second in their events Friday in the Southeastern Conference track and field championships held at South Columbus High School.

LAKE WACCAMAW — East Bladen collected 13 hits and scored in every inning Thursday night in routing East Columbus 15-3 in a Carolina Conference baseball game.

MOUNT OLIVE — Kassidii Goodwin won two events and the East Bladen girls won three relay races Wednesday in winning the Carolina Conference track and field championship held at Mount Olive University.

ELIZABETHTOWN — Tyler Eason struck out 10 and didn’t allow an earned run over six innings Tuesday night in pitching East Bladen to a 7-3 win against Lakewood on Senior Night at Russell Priest Field.

ELIZABETHTOWN — Levi Harrelson tied for second place and East Bladen placed second Monday in the Carolina Conference championship match played at Vineyard Golf at White Lake.

Four East Bladen High School athletes signed Monday afternoon to play at junior colleges at a ceremony inside the school’s media center.
